S-Award

At the end of each semester, the outcomes of the design projects in the Integrated Design modules are exhibited on campus. With the exhibition, students are able to display their own works, appreciate the works of others, and receive a variety of feedback on their own projects. The selected student works from each module are awarded the Green and Red S-awards, and the best student project from the entire course is awarded the Blue S-award and a crystal trophy.

Design for X

Designfor X refers to a novel design strategy for addressing the complex and critical challenges of today. Modern design has expanded beyond an emphasis on goods and services to play a significant role in addressing a variety of social challenges. This module intends to give students the opportunity to explore creative and innovative problem-solving techniques through an integrated approach to open subjects represented by X, and to experience an integrated design process that is based on design thinking. Design for X is a project-based module that modified the previous graduating project studios to coincide with the trend of design’s expanding role. Students select a variety of concerns, problems, and open subjects indicated by X and explore innovative and creative design problem-solving techniques using an interdisciplinary and integrated approach. With With Design for X, students develop the ability to address a variety of issues in the industry and throughout society from a design standpoint.
